When you have a planned trip to Sault Ste. Marie coming up, book with one of our instructors to tackle your in-car lessons. Our one-on-one in-car lessons focus on essential city driving skills, including navigating intersections, handling traffic lights, understanding the right of way, and adapting to the busier road conditions that small towns may not offer.

 

NOTE: Our Wawa Instructor is available from November – April. We highly encourage in-car sessions with a Sault Ste. Marie Instructor to experience driving in a city environment.
*The vehicle is not available to rent for G2 or G Road Tests.

We do require advance notice, so as soon as you know you are travelling to Sault Ste. Marie – get a hold of Our Driving School and we’ll see if we can get you behind the wheel!

About the Wawa Beginner Driver Education Course

We are a Ministry of Transportation (MTO) approved Beginners Driver Education Course. This course consists of 20 hours of an online course, as well as 10 hours of independent study online, then 10 hours of in-car training in Sault Ste. Marie or Wawa. Broken into 8 user-friendly modules, complete the course at your own pace, from the comfort of your own home.

Our instructors are certified teachers and provide an interesting and interactive learning environment. Students will be encouraged to participate in various activities to improve their understanding and to facilitate learning. Classes are relevant to today’s ever-changing driving environment.

Beginner Driver Education Course!

ONLINE OPTION

$790 + HST

Requirements:

  • 10 hours of independent study.
  • Students will be required to maintain a 70% average throughout the course.
  • After the online classroom portion is completed, students will be eligible for the in-car sessions with a Sault Ste. Marie Instructor or our Wawa Instructor, which require an 80% average for certification.
  • You have 1-full year to complete the course; this includes 20 hours course, 10 hours independant study, 10 hours in-car lessons in Sault Ste. Marie.

Upon completion of the course, our office certifies the student with the Ministry of Transporation (MTO). This certification is required proof for your insurance company and can be acquired at Service Ontario for $12.00

Online “New Driver” Educational Course includes 20 hours of the online course, as well as 10 hours of homework online. Broken into 8 user-friendly modules, complete the course at your own pace, from the comfort of your own home. After you complete and pass your online course, you can begin the 10 hours of in-car lessons in Sault Ste. Marie or Wawa!

Our students will learn about the following:

  • How crashes happen and how to prevent them
  • Defensive and cooperative driving skills
  • Winter driving
  • Front and rear collision avoidance techniques
  • Shoulder recovery on the highway
  • Standard and ABS braking techniques
  • How to handle emergencies
  • How to avoid aggressive drivers
  • How to avoid people who tailgate and much more.

Students must maintain an 80% average for certification and will learn the life-saving skills they need to recognize risks on the road and respond effectively.

Benefits of the Beginner Driving Education Course

With an approved Beginner Driver Education Course at Our Driving School, you are eligible to schedule your G1 Exit Test after only eight months. A Beginner’s permit has two phases, G1 and G2. Usually you cannot exit G1 and enter G2 until you have 12 months experience, but this is reduced to 8 months with your Driver Education certificate.
